Skiing & snowboarding
In Mayrhofen, one of the largest ski areas in the Zillertal “Ski- und Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000” awaits you, with over 150 kilometers of slopes and numerous modern lifts. If there is too little of the white splendor, 100% of the slopes can be artificially snowed.
There is a free ski bus to Mayrhofen. [Bus map]
If the bus travel times are not appropriate for you, you can also go by car to Mayrhofen. It will take you about 10-15 minutes.
All Zillertal ski areas can be used with the "Zillertal Super Ski Pass" :
Kaltenbach and Fügen: Hochzillertal, Hochfügen and Spieljoch
Zell am Ziller - Zillertal Arena
Mayrhofen , Finkenberg and Tux - Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000
The Hintertux Glacier is Austria's only year-round ski area and offers winter sports enthusiasts perfectly prepared, snow-sure runs on 365 days.
Sledding
Since there are slopes on our farm, tobogganing fun can even start right outside the front door if there is enough snow, but of course there are also real toboggan runs in the Zillertal.
In Ginzling there is a toboggan run, the starting point, the "Tristenbachalm", can be easily reached from the accommodation in 45 minutes or from the run of the toboggan run directly in town in about 30 minutes.
There is a lot of variety over a length of 2.5 km - there are fast straight sections but also sharp S-curves and narrow 180 ° turns.
The toboggan run is illuminated in the evening; Rental tobogganing is available for a fee on the managed Tristenbachalm and can be conveniently returned to the toboggan run after the tobogganing fun.
Those looking for a little longer tobogganing fun should visit the longest toboggan run in the Zillertal, the toboggan run "Gerlosstein" in Hainzenberg.
Cross-country skiing
There is an approx. 200 km long trail network in the entire Zillertal which is suitable for both beginners and experts - because you can glide comfortably through the relatively flat valley and enjoy the beautiful nature as well as negotiate the increasingly steep slopes.
The varied cross-country ski run, which stretches for 20 km (including 14 km classic and 6 km skating) along the Tuxerbach between Vorderlanersbach and Madseit in the Tuxertal, is still passable if it is already thawing elsewhere in the valley. The longest cross-country route leads from Mayrhofen to Uderns and on the opposite side of the Ziller from Stumm to Hart. In Mayrhofen there are a total of 9 trails with a total of 20 km.
All trails are easy to moderate.
There is also a small cross-country ski run in Ginzling that can be prepared if there is demand.
Ski touring

The Zillertal naturally makes the heart of ski tourers beat faster with numerous ski tour options.
There is something for everyone from easy to difficult tours, of course there are also guided ski tours offered by numerous experienced mountain guides throughout the Zillertal.
Ginzling is also the starting point for some ski tours - for example for the Nestspitze, whose starting point is the Innerbödenalm (approx. 8 km from the accommodation and can be reached by car).
However, this ski tour is considered difficult and demanding.
There are also the Rastkogel (Hippach), Ahornspitze (Mayrhofen), Torspitze and Hoher Riffler (Tux) to list just a few of the nearby options.
Ice climbing
For sporty mountain enthusiasts, our place Ginzling offers an ideal starting point for ice climbing.
